Villa Villekulla bio picture

Welcome to Villa Kulla!

A bemused tale of how one Dane, 2 Ethiopians, a Detroiter and an American/Dane found Pippi Longstocking's house in the Baltimore area and moved right in. Technically Pippi's house is in Sweden, but moving there would have been a commuter nightmare- so we found the closest thing to Villa Villekulla in our neck of the woods.

Our house is an old, money pit and John and I are learning to be crafty- very, very crafty. This blog is my little place to journal  and post photographs of our children, Kaia (8), Josie (6) and Noah (4) as they grow, and to share my decor obsession by posting visual and tasty things I find on the internet and elsewhere.

Thanks so much for stopping  by!

Powell Endorses Obama

Powell says that the Republican party- his party- has moved too far right. That McCain’s message is moving too far right. That the tone at the rallies is cause for concern, and that Palin is not ready to become President.

McMaverick Pulls A Fast One

I am really, really trying hard not to keep writing political posts- but dang it is hard not reacting when there is so much going on all the time…….And I live in Washington, so cut me a little slack here.

I just finished watching McCain’s presser where he selflessly announces his intentions to suspend...

PSA clean water for Africa

Imagine if New York City’s taps went dry. What would we do? Jennifer Connelly walks to Central Park to get dirty water for her family as millions of mothers in Africa do every day. This new PSA from charity: water was directed by Hotel Rwanda’s Terry George, cinematography by Ellen Kuras. Music by Rumor Mill....
