Villa Villekulla bio picture

Welcome to Villa Kulla!

A bemused tale of how one Dane, 2 Ethiopians, a Detroiter and an American/Dane found Pippi Longstocking's house in the Baltimore area and moved right in. Technically Pippi's house is in Sweden, but moving there would have been a commuter nightmare- so we found the closest thing to Villa Villekulla in our neck of the woods.

Our house is an old, money pit and John and I are learning to be crafty- very, very crafty. This blog is my little place to journal  and post photographs of our children, Kaia (8), Josie (6) and Noah (4) as they grow, and to share my decor obsession by posting visual and tasty things I find on the internet and elsewhere.

Thanks so much for stopping  by!

Was so looking forward to sorting through all of our summer photos and posting them to the blog.
What could possibly be so interesting in Denver and Minneapolis that he needs my USB cable?
I fear...

Chronic Jet lag

I haven’t forgotten about my blog.
I am just really busy going to therapy to overcome the effects of being poked, prodded climbed on, drawn on, spilled on, and spit on for 9 straight hours by 3 small children at 38000 feet while crossing the Atlantic Ocean- and what felt like several other oceans- to...

Fairy Tales and Princesses

Since we are in Hans Christian Andersen’s home country, I took the girls to see some very real princesses and fairies. R and J were awestruck, especially when a real live mermaid appeared on a rock in the middle of the lake. I think I even saw J hyperventilating a little bit.
The last 2...
